Subject: Hello, Stewart the Wine Faker, from the Stand-Up Opera Singer

Bonjour, Monsieur McLennan,
(perhaps an apropos address for "The Wine Faker"

You might call me a "lurker" on your board, as I've checked in from time to time and enjoyed your conversations here. Like so many others, you caught my eye with your work on CHRISTY. (There's a random and funny story which found me visiting your old cabin set last summer--sparing the details, I will only say that it's still there but reclaimed by ivy...and snakes!)

At any rate, I appreciate and enjoy your candor, intellect, and generosity of spirit on the board and just wanted to "meet" you.

Though I know next to nothing about wine, I am enjoying reading about Paso Garagistes, and I love the ideas that drive it--making wine, and the making of wine less uppity. As an opera singer, I know the feeling of wanting to share something you enjoy with others in a way that is non-exclusive, making your passions human and relatable. Mayhaps I can find such kindred spirits in my quest to find a niche for my "Stand-Up" Opera concept--Do you need entertainment for the festival? ;-)

Thanks for sharing of yourself and best of luck to a man I respect insofar as I "know" him. How delightful it would be to kick around ideas, philosophies and laughter with you and others so affable around a bottle of wine...though perhaps not the "No Way Rose!"

Cheers,
Mary Kathryn

Welcome to the board, Mary Kathryn.

Thanks for introducing yourself. Stewart has been really busy lately, but he does drop by from time to time to visit with us.

Hope you enjoy it here.

Neeney

Thank you, Neeney and BC for the warm welcome! It's lovely to see the friendships you've all formed here. I guess that makes Stewart a "collector," at least that's what I call my most charismatic friends who seem to bring together wonderful people from such different walks of life. I'm always pleased when I find myself in a "collector's circle" because of the people I meet there whom I would not have perhaps met otherwise.

So there you go, Stewart, the "Wine Faker"--you may now add "Collector" to your list of titles ;-) Thus saith Mary Kathryn, the Ham-Slinging, Braille-Reading, Opera Diva Extraordinaire!

Thanks, BC and likewise!

As far a my "titles," I've picked 'em up here and there as I've fallen into one thing or another. I'm an opera singer by trade, the rest is just life as it happens around and to me...

This clip might explain a few of those titles:

Longish clip that *hopefully amuses! Trust me, you can't make this stuff up :-)
