" ... Raven Moon, Raven Moon,
You are the messenger of change,
Seeker of wisdom, Speaker of truth,
healer of our troubled and wounded past,
giver of fearless courage,
singer of celestial songs,
bringer of magic moments,
diviner of time, star time,
traveler between the worlds
with your Raven wings,
soaring to greater heights,
past the edge of time, into the spirit world,
Where you become the spirit messenger,
The keeper of the great mysteries,
meet the faceless, nameless one,
feel everywhere spirit,
hear the voice of the great spirit speak,
"When we set aside our differences,
Together as rainbow warriors,
We can be the bringers of a new dawn"

just wanted to share this if that's ok?! ...

- recently received a copy of the only photo our family has of my great, great grandmother (a Cherokee) ...
- her first name unknown to our family until my cousin sent me a copy of the photo (which had some information written on the back) ...
- made search via ancestory.com ...
- the best I can determine
- her first name is "Sarah"
Photobucket

after leaving MTSU on Friday ...
- visted a Goodwill in Smyrna
- looking through the music section in the store, found and purchased a CD by an artist with whom I was unfamiliar
- Sarah Pirkle ...

- from the playlist found in this link ...
http://www.reverbnation.com/sarahpirkle
-listen to ...
"Walking Tall Through High Weeds"
- portion of the lyrics ...
" ... this path has not been easy - but, I'm goin' anyway - walkin' tall through high weeds - my great, great grandmother - I carry her name - she was a tough ol' girl - and, wouldn't she be ashamed - if I let hard times drive me crazy - my great, great grandmother - I carry her name..."
- found out that Sarah will be in concert at the Pine Ridge House (Clinton, TN) on July 16th ...
http://www.reverbnation.com/sarahpirkle#!/venue/pineridgehouseconcerts

- all of the above ...
- reminded of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota ...
- spent a portion of two summers working there with children who lived on the reservation
also ...
- was one of the bus drivers along each of those two journeys to SD! :)

thanks for listening!

I am a genealogy freak...I used to work at the local Genealogical Society (I was a librarian and it was part of my duties). I have been working on my family for years and have thousands of pages by now. Ancestry.com led me to some family photos that I treasure very much.

"very cool" re: your knowledge / background and experience in searching through the past Gigi! :)
- I might have to call on you for assistance at some point in time! :)

BC -
I was in Seattle last weekend with no computer access. We were memorializing my 101 year old friend Jane.
Didn't you just love the moon? I couldn't see it on the horizon, but my view was between some pretty majestic trees.
As per your native connection, the photo is really great and it appears as though our not so "little friend" synchronicity has once again reared its head. Good luck in your research and don't forget to capture the feelings along the way. They are as important as your findings.

Smiling,
LauraG
