Aw, I miss having a kitty! My tuxedo cat Cosette died last year.
My dad has become quite the cat rescuer at his place of business. Since it's right near the river, there are all kinds of critters that show up, including stray and feral cats. A couple of winters ago, they found a few cats frozen to death and the big, gruff (but apparently soft-hearted) truckers and construction workers wanted to avoid that this past winter. So they actually caught several cats and kittens in humane traps and sent them to the vet to be checked out and vaccinated. The company even paid for the bills! The vet kept a couple of the male kittens, my parents adopted the mama cat, and a couple of their friends took the other two kittens in the litter. The papa cat was really mean and so feral that the vet didn't think he'd be a good fit in a house, but they still leave food out for him.
Anyway, my parents' kitty is named Ghillie because her tortoise shell markings reminded my ex-military dad of a sniper suit. haha I'll try to get a picture of her sometime. She's wicked cute.
