Subject: OZ reprint of Dreamwave comic is now in Newsagents

It was mentioned last week that the miniture reprint of the Dreamwave comic was sighted at a newsagent, so I checked out a couple on the weekend, and found it. There were quite a few copies at each place, and the publisher says that it will be for sale for 3 months, at which time the second issue will be released. If it sells out before then, the schedule would probably be brought forward though.
It is nice to see that it didn't take long to get printed and distributed, since the last report at the middle of November had the publisher without material from Dreamwave and resigned to releasing it in March.
This version makes for a handy little digest, with it containing the first two issues of the Generation One comic, including the two mini-posters and the GIJoe poster. It is also a lot brighter with the colours than the Dreamwave comics, making characters look a lot nicer and Megatron's glowing red optics in the first issue looks awesome. The only drawback is that it only has the Decepticon Issue One cover as its own cover, and the Autobot Issue Two cover in the middle of the book. The other cover varient pictures are not included anywhere.
Interesting to note that on the front cover, the Transformers title has 'the' added to it, and 'heroic autobot' next to the Decepticon symbol.
It has Australian and New Zealand prices on the cover, suggesting that it will be in New Zealand as well, being AU$5.95 and NZ$6.50. The price for two issues in this format is less than each Dreamwave issue was being sold for in comic stores, so it isn't too bad.
Besides, with how slow the story is, you need two issues at once just to get a decent read.
