Subject: upcoming goodies from Japan

Hey folks... well, no real news here, but just some images of upcoming goodies from Japan.

(1) The first is an image of the repainted Street Action and Air Defence Micron teams for the opening and ending theme singles. Interesting to see that they're burning the singles onto full sized CDs instead of the smaller SCDs that Japanese singles usually come in. I guess it makes it easier to package with the Microns.

(2) These are images of the upcoming Micron Densetsu Happy Set (Happy Meal) toys. There are four in total: Grap (Smokescreen), Hot Rod (Hot Shot), Starscream and Sandstorm (Cyclonus). For legal reasons, the MacDonalds corporation in Japan couldn't secure the rights to make Megatron and Convoy (Optimus Prime).

(3) This is a promo for some upcoming Micron Densetsu collectible cards. There will be 10 assorted cards per packet. There are two main sets of cards to collect - the Transform Cards, which give information about individual characters, and the Information Cards, which give... well.. general information about Transformers Armada. ;p

(4) Next is a picture of Takara's next two upcoming re-issues -- yet ANOTHER Convoy and Lambor (Sideswipe). Yeah... I'm kinda baffled that Takara's reissuing Convoy for a THIRD time. For those who haven't picked up any of the other two (which is kinda incredible considering how recent it's been -- I'd imagine that every Transfans who wanted a reissue Convoy would've gotten one already), this Convoy comes with an Energy Axe and a special folder to hold all those information cards that a lot of the recent Generation One reissues have been coming with (e.g.: Skids, Tracks, Smokescreen etc). The use of Dreamwave art is a nice touch. Personally it's not enough of an incentive for me to buy the whole frickin' toy though...
The Lambor reissue is a nice idea though, considering how hideously rare the 2001 reissue was. And again, the continued use of Dreamwave art is a cool idea IMHO.

(5) Last but not least, Takara has decided to release the Mini-car keychain reissues. Check out the packaging!
