I was waiting for someone to say that!!! =oD

Yes, I reacted exactly the same way when I saw Commerative Edition Starscream here in Victoria and I don't think there's any excuse at all for that kind of price gouging.

Optimus Prime & Ultra Magnus (by today's size, complexity and gimmick standards) are $70 toys at best and Starscream would be lucky to be worth $40. Yes, I know that's pretty low for such great toys (they really are =oD) but that's what they would be worth compared to Armada price points.

Honestly the only Commerative Edition toy worth its TRU price is Rodimus Major (Hot Rod) because at $30 he's only $5 more than current deluxe (ahem... Super-Con) toys and that $5 can easily be attributed to anything from the cost of Die-Cast parts to the thrill of having a collector's item as opposed to a "regular toy".

I don't really care what TRU charges for the Commerative Edition TFs, I'm not gonna be buying them for any more than they're worth. Furthermore, since TRU NEVER drop their prices, I'm of good mind to say TRU stockboys will die moving those overpriced toys around for the next few years.

If you want proof just look at how many Supreme Cheetor and Armada Optimus figures are "flying off the shelves" at $110 each.
