Subject: Re: The Oracle (entry in TF: The Bible)

Some thoughts pertaining to the "Oracle" entry in Transformers: The Bible:

I don't recall it ever being _conclusively_ said during BM that the Oracle was Vector Sigma and the Matrix (i.e. the Creation Matrix or the Autobot Matrix of Leadership). I always took all references to "the Matrix" in BM to refer to the All-Spark.

That's not to say that the Oracle isn't Vector Sigma and the Matrix of Leadership merged together. In fact, U.S. cartoon continuity did show them merging, in "Rebirth" where Optimus Prime plunges the Matrix into Vector Sigma to reactivate it and talk with Alpha Trion (whose essence merged with Vector Sigma in "The Key to Vector Sigma"). It appears that the writers drew heavily from "Rebirth" and "The Key to Vector Sigma" (the Key and the Plasma Energy Chamber also figure prominently at the end of Season 1, and "Rebirth" also features Vector Sigma manipulating the fight between Transformers to ultimately achieve a great purpose). Bob Skir also mentioned that he thought that Oracle was an evolved form of Vector Sigma.

The theory I've always maintained is that the Oracle is a merging of the three: Vector Sigma, Alpha Trion (who merged with V.S. in 1985) and the Autobot Matrix of Leadership (which merged with V.S. in 2007). Mix 'em together, cover and chill for a few hundred years, and you've got a delicious dessert that the whole family will love...er, wait, that's Jell-O pudding.
