For those who wanna see these new pics, click here. There are also pics of Energon Demolisher (yay! New mould!), reissue Rodimus Prime, reissue Dirge (whom I hope will be done well since they don't have projectile missiles) and King Atlas (who's a repaint of MW Starscream/Skyquake).

Yeah, the Triceradon repaint does look fantastic. But the Autobot decal on the dino head kinda cheapens the overall look of the toy -- considering the R&D that Takara put into the Guiledart mould to make it look like a real triceratops in beast mode, and the further efforts that Hasbro/Takara have put into this new paint job to make it even more "real" looking (though we won't ever know what the true colours of Triceratops were, but this looks very plausible). Placing the decal over the gun's spark crystal -- and possible even one on the chest, would have sufficed. And yes, they should've given him a new name.. like Slag. ;)

I'll give credit kudos for working with a fan idea. It's precisely what Takara has been doing with their G1 reissue repaints (Roadrage, Crosscut, Hauler, Sunstorm etc). So thumbs up to Hasbro for emulating such a winning formula from Takara.

I'm looking forward to King Atlas too. Sure, the Skyquake/MW Starscream mould is rather blocky, but at least here we're seeing a pretty good repaint attached to a new name/persona!

Skywarp and King Atlas are the kinds of repaints that Hasbro should be doing. Triceradon is almost up there, but loses points for lack of a new name (yeah, I know it's part of the whole Universe concept, but it's still pretty weak IMHO).
