Yes, but you have to understand WHY they get you stand in the same stance for extended periods of time. The desired result would be to "sink into" the stance as goktimus puts it(referred to as goku from now on sorry mate, just easier :) )

Now whos using poetry and mystical sweet words? heh..

What this basically means is that through repetition and prolonged stance, is that you want to develop your subconscious to always do this no matter what. IE turn it into habit. This can only be done through repetition.. if you know of a better way to develop habit, then let me know and i'll gladly throw away thoughts of entertaining myself with a horse stance in front of the television. Main benefit being turning it into habit(through repetition), that of having good rooted balance.
