Subject: Notification of forum closure

Hi folks.

You might not know me, but I am the Helpdesk Co-ordinator for the Computing, Web Design and other IT distance learning courses. Think of me as a sort of 21st century version of Dennis Dunne and you're pretty much there (I'm better looking though). I'm in charge of delivering the online teaching services, and I'm just writing this to inform you of some improvements to your forum system.

A few months ago I created a new, simpler and faster forum system with an eye to closing the free voy.com forums we maintain. These forums have done us well, but the new system loads faster, runs smoother and allows you all access to new features and better facilities than are available here, and it is completely free.

So, I'm afraid the time has come to "make the break" and transfer across to the new forum system. You can find it by clicking here or by copying this address into your address bar:

Thank you to everyone who has used this forum over the years - in its time this board has clocked up thousands of hits and I hope it has helped some of you in your studies. I hope to see you all in the new forum - go there now and sign yourself up for an account. It's free, it's easy and you get access to a host of features that you don't get here on Voy: you can set the forum to email you if someone replies to a post, you can send private messages to one another, there is a section for non-course related chat (which allows you to pass on jokes and generally get to relax a little with your fellow students), all sorts of extras really.

I'll leave the forum up as it is now for a couple of weeks, but I will close the posting features in the next few days. I'll leave this forum here as a reference, so everything here will remain, don't worry about that - if you have found something useful here it will not be gone.

Any of you who have left your email addresses here will get an email with information on the forum transfer.
