Geeeez......the Red Mousestang dude is mad! I know what he and all of you all are saying. I get almost as many 1's as I do 10's. It is aggrevating. It's not right. It might even be "bull". But that's the way it is.
Should the red mousestang be in the top 10? Yeah, I think so. The guy actually turned some wrenches and made an otherwise "nice car for my mom" into something that would move down a track. So....top 3 Hot Rods? Nope. Top mousestang or better than the newer camaros and firebirds? Oh Yeah. Hands down. And I really don't like moustangs all that well.
How about this -- take a look at the Viper in the top 10 Hot Rods. Is this a Hot Rod? I don't think so. It's a box of corn flakes.....Just go to the dealer and buy one, just like buying corn flakes, but it costs more. It's just a new car. Maybe it belongs in a different class. Maybe there should be an "exotics" class. Or maybe it should be in a "Domestic" class. My opinion is, its just not a "Hot Rod". Cool car? Yep. Fast? Yep. Hot Rod? Nope.
Here's something else that I don't think is a Hot Rod: Anything that just lists a "K&N filter and some sooper-dooper computer chip" as making it a Hot Rod. You fall into this same catagory if you have more stereo than horsepower (without NOS).
NOS----I have mixed feelings about that too. NOS will make my lawn mower run fast, but NOS by itself won't make the lawn mower a Hot Rod either!
Well...that's my short list of opinions. Not trying to cheese anyone off. If I'm wrong, with a little salt, I can eat my hat :-)
