If were talking stalk, my 1988 Pontiac Fiero with a 4cyl automatic beat the tar out of my friends 1998 4 cyl auto Neon... its not the acceleration that got him... but going around corners at 80 and 90mph that the neon had to slow down to 40... the stock Fiero may not be the fastest acceleration car you can get, but once you get it up there nothing but a total 180 degree turn will slow you down. I do think Neons are crap, but then again its among the lowest cost new cars available at the time... come to think of it, so was the Fiero... but no comparison. The fiero can compete with the handling of a 50,000 dollar car, no questions. Concerning speed...well thats another story. I'm realistic...
