Is your child a pre-reader? Do you have someone in your family with reading difficulties or would you like to help develop methods for the early identification of reading problems? We are looking for children ages 4-6 with or without a family history of reading difficulties for our research study at Children's Hospital Boston/Waltham, MA.

What is involved? We will play computer games with your child and look at their language, reading, auditory and musical abilities. We will also look how your child’s brain processes sounds, language and pictures using safe brain imaging technology. We are looking for pre-reading children with a family history of reading difficulties (one parent or one sibling with reading difficulties).

Why participate? Your help will be invaluable to families and scientists interested in reading, language and cognitive development, early diagnosis of learning disabilities and improvement of teaching methods. Your child will receive a gift certificate to a local bookstore and a picture of his or her brain.

Where? Children’s Hospital Boston/Waltham; Developmental Medicine Center

When? At your convenience, weekdays or weekends.

How to participate? Contact the Gaab lab per email at gaablab@gmail.com or call (857) 218-4629.
