Here in the UK it would be a case of continuing to apply 'polite pressure' on the the Special Needs Coordinator. Failing that, the headteacher and Governors of the school. A lot of parents end up supporting their children by 'school proofing' them eg teaching the skills etc that the school are not. The course run by Direct Learning is certainly worth looking at for both parents and teachers......
