Was pleased to see the success you had with this. As a teacher I often find disruptive behaviour can be due to frustration, especially as the pupil can be bright but just not fully engaged for some reason. Children often know they are misbehaving but don't know why. This kind of confidence boosting can do the trick or at least give you and the child something to work on together.
