Subject: Re: Strip down the guild to HC and closest members?
In reply to: Köttabörje 's message, "Re: Strip down the guild to HC and closest members?" on 21:56:27 11/02/05 Wed

this is what I have tried to be saying, Kötta, but I don't want to take the decision alone.

I don't want to bind people to the guild and thereby miss out on all the stuff, that can in fact make them competitive (including those HC'ers that stay!). If Kylara, Dario, Deus and others are staying, why do you want to miss out on the items that can make you truly competitive? It would be mad IMO, and the only sensible thing is to disband, so we don't deprive guys like Johnnyfind, who is very faithful and probably wouldn't leave until we disband, of the good items (and for him good gameplay too!).
And we got more of those members, who wouldn't move on if we don't disband. And it would break my heart to kick such members for a small MRC guild, as they would feel betrayed, if MRC goes on without them, even if it is only as a skeleton guild.

Another idea could be to keep the guild for alts, that way we would still meet when we are leveling alts. We could also make a MRC channel, that we could use across guilds.

Problem is that the guild is already choking as we speak, and I wish to reach a decision pretty fast, so it can either be revived or put to sleep.

Seems it is up to you Dario.

PS: Kötta we have had several of these breaks, and the HC is still together, all the way from Ultima Online. When MRC has been inactive, some people have played one MMO, some another, some FPS'es etc. But when an MMO then comes out that looks promising, we get together and give it a try.

Noone could know that WoW would turn into this when we first started out - Blizzard swore this was a casual-friendly game (it is fairly casual-friendly up to lvl60, then it gets really unfriendly IMO), and when we started, there was alot of world PvP, and we weren't in a state to judge how it would be when we reached endgame.

WoW is simply the hugest disappointment I have experienced from a promising-looking game with such good basic PvP dynamics (1vs1 and group-vs-group dynamics).
A shame they didn't manage to do more with it.

Btw, with the next expansion, they will release yet another BG. That doesn't sound like they are working on any serious world-PvP IMO...

PPS: Release of D&L beta has been postponed to mid-january.
