If I'm asking you to trust me enough to tell me why, then the least I can do is trust you enough to tell me in your own time. I am going to pass the info on to a friend, who can get it into the Times without it being postmarked. I'll ask him to give it to the most ambitious reporter. I do think the info would be greatly helped if I could include a phone number, or some other contact point. Do you know anybody with a phone who's totally uninvolved? If I gave the number of just someone who knows you, then if anyone started trying to follow this back to you or I it would be more difficult. I think we need to include some sort of contact info for two reasons. One, an article is hard to produce without any leads and most reporters are not going to simply regurgitate what they've been given. Secondly, if we don't maintain any hand in controlling the story, it could easily spiral out of hand. If you, or some patsie of yours, posed as informant then you'd have more say over what is eventually printed.
