The scene fades in on an Australian sports show, Sports Tonight. A voice-over is heard:

A montage of footage starts playing: 'First there was Wendi Richter, recruited by the WWF for their Women's Division. American audiences didn't take notice until the Japanese team of the Jumping Bomb Angels. And in the 90's, wrestling became known for something else.'

Several shots of Sable in various poses, as well as pixelated nude shots come up, along with those of Chyna, and Sunny.

Women's wrestling became more of a spectator sport, there for nothing more than decoration and maybe some titillation. But now, the emphasis seems to be going back to the act of wrestling than being decoration. One of the women trying to do this is Julianna Mendez, also known as Pantera. She's achieved remarkable success in the former N.E.W franchise, and is now the Technical Champion of the new RAW federation. She joins us now on the sattelite.

The picture cuts to Pantera sitting in a chair, looking a million miles different from her regular self. Her hair is still loose and wild, but her ever-present shades are on her forehead. She wears a simple black tank-top with no phrases or pictures on it.

The interviewer clears his throat and speaks

Tim White:Good morning, Julianna. Or should we call you Pantera?

Julianna: No, Julianna is fine. Good evening to Australia.

TW: We understand that you're having an interesting time in the RAW, Real American Wrestling federation. You came out on stage and publicly derided the crowd for their lack of support. Was that real, or just another angle for the fans?

Julianna laces her fingers as she ponders the question.

J: Some of it was a work, but I meant what I said. I know I'm a rookie at least as far as RAW is concerned, but it doesn't mean I can't go places. I worked my @ss off to get the title I got now, and that was within six months of signing a contract. I don't know and I really don't care if X-Con or Big Poppa Chump did that or not. They got the advantage of being men. They aren't questioned about how strong they are or written off as just some chick. I think that means something, myself.

TW::So you're saying you think you're being held back because of your sex?

J: No, no....what I am saying is that I don't get treated as seriously as any man. And I admit, I fell into the trap of trying to fight like one last week. I went for the power moves when I didn't rely on what I'm good at. My background is in luchador....high flying stuff, for anyone new to this. I've also got training in Japanese submission holds, and that's where I messed up. You don't try and slam someone as big as BPC and think you're gonna get away with it.

TW: You menioned Japanese wrestling.....so you're saying you're not like the other famous women in your field, like Sable and Chyna?

J:She laughs for a moment Well, I don't have any offers from Playboy yet. But no....you're right. Chyna is a straight-out power wrestler. I know I probably wouldn't last against her. And Sable....well, you said she was famous. Maybe not so much as a wrestler....but I mix it up a lot. Hurricanranas, baseball slides, even an elbowdrop from the top for those old-timers. My big submission move is my rolling leg sleeperhold; I don't need any strength for that one. And my finisher....

A clip rolls from her brief WWF stint. She gets her opponent, another woman, up on the top rope. Both hands are put behind her back and Pantera overhead suplexes her onto the mat, and she bridges for the pin.

J: They call that a Tiger Suplex in Japan. That's what I'm gonna try on Total this coming Bloodzone.,

TW: Now Total's definitely got some more experience than you, is that right?

J: That's true. Way more than I have, and I respect him for that. But I have to tell you that I can't worry about that when I get in there. I got some notice last week from the women in the crowd for going the distance with BPC, and I'm cool with that. But I'm not going to give a damn about the fans until they, and the boys in the back, give a damn about me. It's that simple. So I'm gonna go out there and beat the hell out of Total, if that's what it takes. And as far as I'm concerned, my title is up for grabs, 24-7 So if Total wants to make this a title deal, then it's fine by me.

TW: Well, our satellite time is almost up. Thanks for talking to us, Julianna, and is there anything you want to say to your Australian fans?

J: Yeah....She seems more animated now I hope we get down there for some shows and maybe a pay-per-view soon. Besides, I hear the guys there like their contact sports too. She laughs

TW: Thanks for your time.

J: Thanks, Tim.

With that, the screen fades to black......
