Long, open expanses of prairie, perfect grazing for horses. The grasslands have hot weather in summer and sometimes feet of snow in winter, and prairie fires are common some seasons.
Weather:
Spring
Spring is probably the season with the best weather on the grasslands. Warm, balmy weather preceeds the hot summer, melting off the snow from winter. The grasslands are green, and have the best grazing this season.
Summer
Summer is hot and dry, often with prairie fires. There is little shelter on the grasslands, though the river bluffs are a good place to cool off.
Autumn
Autumn is when the air turns colder, though it is a pretty pleasant season on the grasslands. The prairie fires are pretty much done with by this time, leaving the air cool and the grass dying.
Winter
Winter is cold and harsh on the prairie. Snow falls about daily, sometimes a foot or more, and blizzards and whiteouts are common. Cold and wet, winter is a pretty hard month.... not too much to eat..
