Subject: Encrypted Autobot Channel #235119512
In reply to: Autobot Security Squad Five 's message, ""Hey....hey, hold it brother!"" on 21:53:39 09/10/02 Tue

Blunt came to a halt and took in the situation with a glance. There seemed to be a greater diversity of lifeforms than he remembered on the base. Though it had not been unusual to see the occasional Autobot aboard the majority of staff and visitors had been Maximals. There had been rumours of some sort of emergency at Starbase Rugby with some escaped convict before he had left SDS Delta Station and entered cryogenic suspension, but his bosses had dismissed it as space-gossip.

Maybe what happened here must have been real bad to make 'em change their tune like that.

In the past Maximal station guards had carried a range of non-lethal and incapacitance weapon - tangle bombs, web guns, stun grenades, restraining bolts. Surely the Autobots would do the same?

With other Autobots nearby the situation could be settled more quickly since all Autobots shared common encrypted communications channels, a holdover from the War. Maximals and Predacons were usually to small to carry decent encryption gear onboard and relied on external communication gear, whilst Decepticons had their own encryption schemes. One of the advantages of being an 'old gas-guzzler' was being able to carry alot more 'post factory' options on board.

Blunt picked an obscure code and began silently broadcasting a tightbeam message to the Autobot Security Squad. The Autobot's gritty voice sounded tinny translated by the security squad's codecs.

#235119512: "'Civilians' don't take hostages, bub. I'm not gonna to mess up your pretty docking bay with explosives. I've got tanglefoot and low-yield emp shells - enough to stun a bot but not damage ships or equipment. You guys :do: have stun weapons, right?"

Even if the troublemakers picked up and decrypted the message the distraction could be enough to allow the Security Squad to move in. Blunt lowered his grenade launcher and took up a gunslinger poise and cracked the knuckle joints of his empty left hand.
