Parts of the Docking Bay were much better lit than the Building Yard from whence the creature drifted. It observed the workers near the fallen gantry and drifted onwards. The Autobots were of little interest to the creature.

Having no eyes, a Metroid percieved its surroundings via a crude radar and other living creatures via brainwaves and life-energy. This ability was stronger with other organic creatures, though it could see a Spark-driven being, if dimmer than organic life. This Metroid now noticed some human dock workers, their thoughts brighter to it than the Autobots it had passed. It would take several to sate its driving hunger, but the cerebral snack it had pilfered from the unsuspecting yard worker would not last long, and it had to act while it still could.

Drifting out past the crates it suddenly stopped, confused. Powerful mental energies resonated from a nearby wall, drawing it like a moth to a flame. A Maximal ran past suddenly, tripping over a piece of debris. The Metroid hovered overhead, observing the actions of this creature. The Maximal moved about, searching for something. "Primus, no! Where did my sidearm go? How the heck'm I gonna explain this to my CO?" Muttering to himself, he moved on. The hovering Metroid drifted downward now, toward the wall. The closer it got the hungrier it grew. Propelled forward by its only driving instinct, the blue mass pierced the illusory wall into a concealed corridor! Ignoring the Maximal's lost blaster, lying nearby, it raced forward, seeking the source of the mental illusion and a feast the likes of which its kind had never indulged in...
