Subject: Religion and Politics

I know, you're not supposed to talk abouthtis sort of thing in polite society, but I'll ask it anyway. What party and religion do you believe the JAG characters belong to?

AJ: political party: Independent, religion: Roman Catholic
I think AJ is too conservative to be a Democrat but too much of a rebel to be a Republican. I suspect he is Roman Catholic (probably a lapsed one, at that)because he was married to Marcella, and she's Italian. But also because in Soul Searching he tells Webb how Tim Fawkes saved his soul. That whole "kill a nun or priest and be damned forever" is a very RC thing, although I don't believe it has any official sanction of the church (this was asked in my RCIA class...the priest said don't kill anybody, none of us are worth more than anybody else, not even priests and nuns.)

Bobbi: Democrat, Methodist
Her politics are obvious, just took a wild guess on the religion!

Bud: Democrat, Roman Catholic
Working class roots, values...the whole self-made man thing. It hink he's a Democrat. And his weddingnad Baby AJ's christening looked pretty RC to me.

Gunny: Republican, Roman Catholic
Doesn't like Clinton (Contemptuous Words) and supports the Death Penalty (Life or Death). 'Nuff said on his politics. As for religion, in Psychic Warrior he talked to Mac about how his mother prays to a God who walked on water and has a saint's picture in her room....sounds pretty RC to me.

Harm: Republican, Roman Catholic
Military, auto industry...yep, he's Republican. I suspect he's a marginal RC, too. (All of the main characters seem to be.)

Harriet: Republican, Roman Catholic
Politics...money - remember her family? Her mom is certainly Republican. The wedding and christening of baby AJ make me think RC.

Mac: Democrat, Roman Catholic
The whole self-made woman thing.Same kind of background as Bud. She may be moderate, but she's a Democrat. RC because of her Irish roots, andhte episode with her father's death.

Palmer: Anarchist (so he doesn't have a party) Atheist
Need I say more?

Rénee: Democrat, Episcopalian
She was so excited about Bobbie's ad....Religion, well, I think she said the minister came after them whenthe preist showed up at Harm's apartment that Sunday morning. Very protestant. But Episcopal and RC are sooo similar.

SecNav: Hmm...until thisseason I would have said Democrat...but maybe moderate Republican, since he's still around. As far as religion, thinks he is God!

Singer: Fascist (LOL!) and Scientology

Tiner: votes the way his parents tell him to vote, Methodist

Webb: Republican, Episcopal
Old money politics, and WASP thing that seems so Episcopalian!
