You haveto make sure you have recording capability first - not all units will have that function installed.

Please note that all player decks have the same switiches, but there has to be some form of a recording strip under the keys. If you are able to remove the keys (just a few in the middle) and look underneath them at the key bed, you should see something that looks "electronic", and not just the bushings there for leveling and key height. If there are elctronics there, then you know that there is something wrong with that OR the board that it connects to.
