Are all 3 boards playing garbled notes or just one of them? What happens if you play the first track on the diagnostic tape (simply all notes repeated up the keyboard)? If you don't have this tape, it's available on the homepage at http://www.pianocorder.info

In addition to the cables, check all the solder connections on the back sides of the playback and driver boards. The boards are pretty low quality to begin with, and Superscope/Marantz' manufacturing sometimes forgot to solder some of the pads. Often the boards would function OK for years until the vibration of the piano or oxidation of the contacts disturbed things too much. It could be this simple of a fix.

Always be sure to unplug the Pianocorder and wait 60 seconds before touching any internal components.
