Date Posted: 10:14:58 02/16/08 Sat My Pianocorder stopped operating the soft pedal last week. The fault turned out to be in the connector which plugs onto the power supply printed circuit board. A year or two ago, one of the note driver boards stopped working for no apparent reason. The cause was similar -- a poor connection at the center driver board where the +170 volts is fed to the 32-note driver boards. I suspect that the problem originates with cheap, shoddy construction using contact material which loses spring tension over time. That tension is needed to maintain a gas tight contact with the pins on the printed circuit boards. Hopefully this will save someone's head of hair when frustration sets in.
