You will need additional circuitry to convert the analog "audio" from your player to a 12 volt square wave as is done by the cassette player in the standard Pianocorder.

This can be done by adding a new connector to plug into J2 on the playback board to accommodate the new circuitry. By adding suitable switching, you won't have to eliminate the cassette player either.
