Yes, these solenoids do get warm! I have two pianos w/Pianocorder, one is the Marantz Ragtime piano which was probably built for commercal use. This piano does have a factory-installed fan which is directed at the two large pedal solenoids. It is wired into the powerline supply after the power switch so is always running whenever the Pianocorder electronics is powered up. The fan is quiet, which is a selection consideration if you intend on adding a fan to your piano. Mark's software allows for a "rest period" in order for things to cool down, but this feature can be defeated after adding a fan if desired.
