There are a number of things that could cuase this. The tapes are getting old and could be bad, but I wll asume you have tried more then one tape. The tape players do go bad, I think a spring wears out and does not pick up the feed. there are refurbish and new tape players available. At least there was a couple years ago. I would first replace the tape player. Another option is you can install the wirless system from mark that will bypass the tape player and plays form a computer. A really great solution. but it would be more expnsive then fixing the tape player first. Eventually you will want to get Mark's systems as it opens up a lot of music to you and is very easy to use. Most of the old tapes are going bad anyway.

If its not the tape player then you have a board problem or someother issue. then you have to decide how committed you are to getting it fixed. If you can do your own board replacement and changing solonoids and the like its more cost effective then having to pay someone to do everything. with help I compleatly rebuilt and old system. Was worth the effort but does take committment.

Bruce
