How to Prevent and Cure Yeast Infection

Yeast infection is the colonization of yeast fungi in body areas in such an amount and such a way that damages or symptoms are produced. Usually the yeast invades only body cavities and the lining of these cavities, but can in serious cases grow into deeper tissue layers.

Yeasts very often infect the vagina and outer female genitals. It also often occurs in the mouth, and is then called trash. The male genitals may be infected, but usually with fewer symptoms. There can also be an infective over-growth of yeast in the digestive tract, skin areas and the nose. Small children often get afflicted in the diapered area, and this is commonly called diaper rash. Diaper rash can also be caused by irritation from urine or stool, from food allergy, from allergy against washing media, or from a combination of several factors.

Sometimes these microorganisms attack several body areas at the same time, such a systemic infection is often called candidiatis. A systemic yeast infection can develop into a serious condition where the yeast invades deeper layers of the skin, the deeper tissues of several organs and even the blood stream.

The systemic variant usually occurs in patients with bad immune defense, like HIV patients, diabetics or patients weakened by systostatic or steroid medication.

CAUSES OF THE DISEASE

Usually species of the genus Candida, and especially the species Candida albicans, are the infective agents. These yeasts are normally found in the body, but the amount is held down by the normal body chemistry by friendly bacteria inhabiting the skin and body cavities, for example bacteria producing lactic acid (the genus Lactobacillus). When the yeast become infectious, it often changes from a round cellular form to a thread-like or branched form that can grow into tissues.

A disturbed bacterial flora in the skin and body cavities can make it easier for the yeast to grow excessively and infect. The skin, the outer genitals and body cavities like the mouth, vagina, and the colon contain the bacterium types Bifidobacteria and Lactobacteria, and these bacteria hold the growth of the yeast in check.

Use of antibiotics can kill these friendly bacteria and make it easier for the yeast to grow. A too eager use of antibiotics in children can cause a chronic overgrowth of yeasts in the body that will affect the health negatively long into adulthood.

Use of corticosteriods can also make a person susceptible for attack. Asthma patients using inhaled coricosteroids often get afflicted in the oral cavity.

A too eager hygiene, using bacterial killers, can kill friendly bacteria and cause a yeast attack to occur. However, lack of washing can also cause yeast infection.

If skin areas are constantly held wet or sweaty, Candida infections can easily occur, for example in diapered areas of small children or feet covered by tight shoes during long walks.

A diet with an excess of sugar and other carbohydrates may nourish the yeast and cause an infective growth of the yeast.

Mental and physical stress can decrease the effect of the immune defense against yeasts and make a person more susceptible for attack.

THE SYMPTOMS IN VARIOUS BODY PARTS

Yeast infection in the female genitals gives itching or burning sensations in the vagina and genital lips, red rashes in the external female genitals and a whitish badly smelling discharge. The discharge may also be the only symptom.

Attack in the male genitals often gives itching sores around the base of the penis head. There may also be a smelling whitish fluid substance present that is different in consistence from the white smegma normally produced by glands in the same area. Red rashes with scaling can be present on the outer genitals and especially on the underside of the penis.

In the mouth, yeast infection gives sores covered with a whitish layer that give an itching or burning pain, so called trash. There can also be white or yellow layers on the tongue without any sores underneath or other symptoms. One often sees cracks at the corner of the mouth.

Attack in skin areas will give symptoms like rashes, itching, sore areas oozing fluid and blisters. The symptom will most often be seen in areas like the under-side of the shoulders, the inner side of the elbow, skin folds, in the pelvic region and other areas that are somewhat hidden.

Yeast infection in the digestive tract can give symptoms in the whole digestive tract from the esophagus to the anus. Symptoms that can occur are problems and pain during swallowing, breast pain, bloating, cramping, excessive gas production, diarrhoea, itching and sores in the rectal opening and lactose intolerance.
About Yeast Infection and Candidiasis - Prevention and Treatments

An overgrowth of yeast in the digestive tract or a generalized attack produces substances that can poison the whole body, and give symptoms also from body parts that are not directly infected, like: rashes, hives, and itching in the skin, allergic reactions in many body parts, fatigue or lethargy, muscle weakness, bone pain and nervous symptoms.

DIAGNOSIS

Yeast infection is often diagnosed by a specimen from the affected area. The specimen is then cultured to investigate the microbial flora. Often bacterial infections give the same symptoms, especially from the vaginal area, and the specimen will also help to decide the cause of the symptoms.

STANDARD TREATMENT

Yeast infection is commonly treated locally at the infected area with anti-fugal substances like clotrimazole (canesten), nystatin, fluconazole, ketoconazole, tioconazole (GyneCure), terconazole (Terazole), Monazole, miconazole (Monistat, Micozole), butoconazole (Femstat) and gentiana violet.

By vaginal infection tablets, creams or suppositories containing one or more of these substances are usually inserted into the vagina. Men having genital yeast infection or sexual partners of women with infection can be treated with local cream based on the same substances.

Some of the drugs, like fluconazole, are also used orally as a systemic medication.

For more severe cases the substances amphotericin B, caspofungin, or voriconazole is often used.

By localized infection, for example in the vagina, the pharmacological products usually take away the infection very effectively.

These products do not however take away the susceptibility for new infections, and can be less effective when the infection is spread in a more diffuse manner.

Lifestyle measures and natural supplements can be useful to reduce the susceptibility for yeast infection and to help cure when standard treatment does not fulfill this goal.

ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT

- Garlic helps to kill yeast, and can be used as an oral remedy for yeast infection.

- Flushing with a boric acid solution can help to kill yeast and rinse body cavities. Suppositories containing boric acid can also be used to kill yeast in the vagina or anus.

- Diluted tea tree oil may help for vaginal yeast infection by using it locally.

- The fatty acid caprylic acid can kill yeast, and a supplement of this acid may help against yeast infection.

- Propolis is an antibacterial substance made by bees. An oral supplement or local application of a propolis solution has shown to be useful against yeast infection.

- Cranberry juice helps against bacterial infection in the urinary tract and may also help to kill yeast by making the urine more acidic.

- Lactoferrin is a protein that can bind to iron and hold it away from pathogenic bacteria and yeast, and this will impair the growth of these organisms. The protein is naturally found in milk and in secretes in many parts of the body. It is a part of the natural defense against microbes.

- Products containing seeds for friendly bacteria (Lactobacteria and Bifidobacteria) can help reestablish a normal bacterial flora and be helpful against yeast infection. The friendly bacteria hinder the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms. Such seeds are often called probiotics. There are probiotic products for both oral and local use.

-Yoghourt contains seeds for friendly bacteria. Consuming yoghourt can help to normalize the microbial flora in the digestive tract and in the genital zone. Yoghourt may also be used as a local remedy, for example in the vagina.

LIFESTYLE MEASURES FOR PREVENTION AND CURE

Many lifestyle measures can be used to prevent the outbreak of yeast infection and help to cure chronic yeast infection.

- One should avoid over-consuming carbohydrates, and avoid consuming carbohydrates that are rapidly taken up or utilized, like pure sugar, refined floor and bread made from refined floor. Instead use of full corn products, beans and peas that contain carbohydrates that are utilized gradually is recommended.

- One should wash or bath daily the whole body, including the genital area, with a mild soap or with pure water.

- One should not use anti-bacterial agents when one washes the skin, the genitals, the rectal opening or by mouth hygiene. For intimate wash, pure water is best.

- Unnecessary antibiotic cures or steroid medication should be avoided.

- Stressful elements and habits in the daily life should be avoided. Meditation is a good method to stress down.

- Clothes and shoes should give ventilation so that humidity does not aggregate at skin surfaces or in skin folds. Humid areas on the skin should be washed and dried regularly when it is not possible to avoid humidity.

Learn the Principles of Classical Yoga Exercises

---------------------------------------------------------
Here are the basic principles of physical yoga exercises outlined. After reading this article you can already do some simple yoga exercises or at least exercises according to the yoga style.

--------------------------------

Yoga originated in India and has the purpose of stimulating both spiritual growth, mental wellbeing and physical health. Yoga contains many exercise programs, of which physical exercises, or hathayoga, is one. In the following the basic principles of hathayoga are outlined.

An important part of physical yoga is the breathing exercises, or pranayama. This part is in many ways the most fundamental, because the basic type of breathing is also a part of the yoga postures - the asanas. The postures consist of stretching and holding the body in specific stretched positions for some time, while breathing in a specific way. One usually do both pranayama and asanas in the same session. You can do the pranayama before or after the asanas.

PRANAYAMA EXERCISES

The complete yoga-breath is a basic exercise upon which all other breathing exercises are based, and this is also the way you breath during the body postures. It is however also an independent exercise that you can do any time to refresh yourself. It begins with lungs in a totally empty state obtained by contracting your stomach muscles and all of your chest muscles.

Then breath in as much as you can by letting your stomach expand. Then proceed breathing in by expanding the muscles in the mid of your chest. At last complete the filling of your lungs by expanding the upper part of your chest. It is not possible to separate these three faces completely, though, and they shall also glide over into each other in a smooth way.

Then you empty your lungs completely in a similar sequence. First you contract your stomach muscles and empty as much as possible using these muscles. While holding your stomach muscles contracted, you proceed emptying by contracting the muscles in the mid of your chest and then complete by contracting the upper part of your chest.

All other breathing exercises are essentially variants of the complete yoga breath. When doing the exercises you sit in an upright position on a chair or on some cloth at the floor with crossed legs. Some of these exercises are:

- You breath in and out rapidly 8-15 times, and then hold your breath some while.

- You breath in rapidly, using 4 seconds, then hold your breath 16 seconds or as long as it feels comfortable, then breath out using 8 seconds.

- In a more complex variant of the above exercise you breath in while closing one of your nostrils with a finger, hold your breath some while, and then breath out closing the other nostril. Then you repeat it while still closing your other nostril, hold the breath and then breath out while closing the first nostril.

- You can breath in and breath out through your mouth while pressing your lips towards each other so that you get an extra pressure in your lungs. You can also press your lips together while breathing in so that you get an under-pressure in your lungs.

YOGA ASANAS

A yoga posture begins with your body in a relaxed position, either laying flat down or sitting right up. You empty your lungs before the posture as in a complete yoga breath.

- Then you slowly swing or twist your whole body or parts of your body into a stretched position. While doing this your breath in as in the complete yoga breath.

- Then you hold the position for a short or longer time. If you hold it long, you are breathing relaxed with the complete yoga breath method, but not in such a complete way that the breath makes you exhausted.

- Then you slowly swing back from the stretched state to the original position while breathing out like in the complete yoga breath.

Most postures are variant of these basic principles, of which a few are:

- You lay on your back on a cloth at the floor. Then swing your arms up and behind your shoulders, stretching all of your body from top to toe. Then slowly sit up and swing your torso forward while stretching your arms towards your toes. If possible bend your torso all the way down to your knees. After holding the position some while, slowly sit up and then lay down to the original position.

- You lay on a cloth at the floor on your stomach, with another cloth under your lower stomach to protect your genitals. Then lift and swing your upper body up as long as possible, while also bending your head back. Push with your hands towards the floor to help the lifting and to get an effective stretch. Then slowly lay down again at your stomach.

- Sit at the floor on a thick cloth with your legs flexed up halfway towards your stomach and your knees together. Then twist your torso and also swing your head to one side, while pushing against your knee with your hands to help the twisting and get an effective stretch. Then, after holding the position a while, swing your torso back and twist to the other side in the same manner.

- Lay on your back on a cloth at the floor. Swing your legs up so your feet come over your head. Then lift your torso up from the floor so that your body rests upon your shoulders, and straighten your body upwards as much as you feel comfortable. Help the lifting and holding the position with your arms. After having been in that upright position some while, descend your torso and legs again.

The classical description of this exercise prescribes that your body shall point straight up, but that causes your neck to bend unpleasantly and a great pressure in your head. Therefore it is best for most people not to straighten out completely when resting the body on your shoulders.

After all your exercises you should lay straight out on the floor a few minutes to rest. To get as relaxed as possible, go through each body part from your feet to your head and relax specifically that body part. Then think about your whole body and try to relax all of it even more. At last also relax you mind by not thinking actively about anything.

HOW TO BEGIN YOGA PRACTICE

You can find exact descriptions of yoga exercises in books and in web-sites or you can attend courses. You will probably find that the exercises are difficult to do as described in the beginning. It is however possible to do them approximately in the beginning and gradually learn to perform them perfectly.

But you can also compose your own exercises that fit your personal condition and need. To be yoga exercises they must be composed according to the principles outlined above. Weather you learn standard exercises or compose your own, you should however choose a set of exercises that will stretch or twist all your body parts.

SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION AND COMMENTS FROM THE NET ABOUT A LOT OF MATTERS

The Sexual Zones In the Body Of a Women

By Knut Holt

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

A woman has many erogenous zones at various parts of her body that you can use to play with and make good for her during foreplay, during the main sexual act and in a relaxed way afterwards. Learn about them here and how they can be handled.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
erotic,erogenous,zones,female,women's,of women,how to,play with,sensual,sensitive,breast nipples,clitoris,G-spot,anus, buttocks,rectum,vagina,labia
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The whole body of a woman is sexually sensitive, but she also has some specific zones you can use to tease her up sexually with during foreplay, and also during intercourse. And the same zones can be used to make it good for her when she is relaxing after the main act. To some extent these zones are at the same place as corresponding zones in a man, so a man can partly use things he knows about sensual zones in his own body to guide himself.

It is often wise to play with the different spots in a specific sequence, but going back and repeat the handling of some of the zones several times.

You can begin by caressing her neck by stroking up and down with your hands and keep special attention to the furrow in the mid with your finger tips. This zone is very sensitive to broad light caresses and a little harder tickling up and down in that furrow. Playing with that zone typically create sensations that will spread down along her back.

The lips and tongue is an obvious erotic area in women as in men, and the kiss is the equally obvious way of handling this zone, but the kiss must be done in an artistic and skillful way to give a deeper pleasure. You can begin by gently touching her lips with your own, then tighten your own lips and press a little more and suck a little in while detaching your lips again, making the classic smacking sound. Then grip several times softly over one of her lips with you own.

When touching her lips the next time both of you open up your mouth a little, and let your tongue tips play against and around each other. Also stick your tongue out and play with your tongue tip around her lips, while stopping a while to let her do the same. All these movements and many more can be combined and varied in many ways, but real success depends on an understandig of the play from both parts and cooperation.

The line along the spine all the way from the neck down to the buttocks is also very sensual. Many women will have a furrow in the mid of her back in which you can caress with your fingers down and up, but you should also caress along the spine in a broader fashion with your flat hand.

The breast nipples and surrounding are somewhat more intimate erotic zones that is fine to play with next. Many women have extremely sensitive nipples, and they easily get over-tickled, so one must try out very cautiously how strongly you should handle them. Stroke and squeeze gently the whole breast in your hands. Tickle the nipples with your finger tips and with a finger tip rotate gently around each nipple.

The belly can then be caressed in a broad way by stroking up and down. Take especially care to pull upwards a little just over her bladder region so that her genital labia get stretched a little upwards. Then find the navel with your finger tips. The navel is a very erotic point and by tickling with some pressure in the deep of her navel, you can create great sensations that are felt downwards to her clitoris, and give surprizing reactions in her genital region. Also rotate your finger against the inner walls of her navel, stretching it in all directions.

The clitoris is perhaps the crown of the sensual spots. The visual part of the clitoris is a knob situated between the upper parts of a woman's labia. It has much of the same sensual functions as a man's penis head. It has a foreskin resembling a hood. One can play with a woman's clitoris in much the same way as with a man's penis, stroking and tickling with one or two fingers, very gently at first, but more vivid at later stages. Because of the sensuality of this spot, massaging the hood of the clitoris up and down is often a better way of handling than directly at the clitoral head.

An even more intimate point is her g-spot. In order to get to it, your woman must lay comfortably with somewhat spread legs. It is found inside her between her vagina and urethra, and it can be reached by a finger or a dildo by pushing upwards some way inside her vagina. To hit the right spot requires some seeking with your finger or the dildo and trying different degree of pressure. You sense from her reactions when you have found the right spot. When found you partly massage and partly poke with your finger against the point.

Her buttocks and rectal zone is perhaps as sensual as her genitals. You begin by caressing and gently squeezing her buttocks broadly with a whole hand. Then pull her buttocks to the side so her rectal zone get stretched. There is an extremely sensual point just under the base of her spine, giving great responses if you tickle her deeply here with your finger tip. Then you can get more intimate by caressing the inside of her buttocks, and by stretching at both sides very near to her anus. A very gentle massage with your finger tips at her anal rims can make very profound sensations.

If both you and your women is comfortable with it and she gives signals that she likes it, you can very gently enter her anus with a lubricated finger or a dildo. Take time to poke in and out a little in her opening, navigate gradually deeper inside. Point and stroke at the walls inside her rear cavity. At several points inside her rectum you can find extremely sensual points that give reactions in her whole pelvic region. Also when you go out again you do it extremely gently. A characteristic of this area is that very soft caresses often give the strongest feelings and responses.

It is not recommended, due to danger of bacterial contamination, to do anything deep in a woman's genital parts with a finger or toy that has been in her rectal area. If you want to explore the deeper parts of her body, you must first do it at the front and then take her behind, or choose which part you want to play with in the most intimate way.

It is important that the play with the erotic zones not only becomes a favor the man does for the woman. She must also give the man the favor of doing good to his erotic zones, so the play gets equally rewarding for each, and both must be sensitive to what feels good for the other.
