Howitzer ~~finally~~ enters the Command Center. He takes his seat at the center of the room and glances at a pad laying there for him.

"Status Report"

An Ensign spins around in his chair to face the captain.

"All systems report in fine. Upgrades are still going ~~at a snails pace~~ on, and should be finished in the near future. Engineering has found out that the artifact that was found, code named the Stargate, creates worm holes between other gates."

"Like a transwarp gate?"

"Sort of. They believe the mechanics will work differently, and that it will run without the huge power consumption. They request permission to randomly 'dial out' so they can find other gates and they need to form a team to explore any realms they find."

"Tell them permission is granted. They can select member from security and military if need be, they can contact those sectors to find out who will be available for the mission."

"Yes sir."

"What's the status on the new Boardhopper?"

"We are near 60% complete sir. It should be done around the time the rest of the upgrades are done."

"Good. That is all Ensign."
