Subject: Can anyone help????

I am currently on the second book of Beginning Visual basic (the one with the light blue writing on the front). I have got as far as section "10. Timers, Animation, Keyboard Events" and have hit a snag, i think it is a fault in the text. at the bottom of the page numbered 10-15 there is a paragraph that reads

"Ball Dir is used to indicate which way the ball is moving. when balldir is 1, the ball is moving down (shape1.top is increasing). when balldir is -1, the ball is moving up (shape1.top decreasing). change the FORM_LOAD event to:"

then the top of the next page (10-16) reads:

"Private sub command1_click()
timer1.enabled = not (timer1.enabled)
shape1.left = 0.5 * (picture1.scalewidth - shape1.width)
shape1.top=0
balldir = 1
end sub"

It seems to me that what you have to change the form_load event to is missing from the text. if you follow the book you get an unambigious error at the private sub command1_click() highlighted on the debugger.

I have been stumped at this for nearly a month due to the tutour change and the learning library not phoning me back and the helpdesk apparently having a book that is numbered differently. i checked with my friend who is doing the course and his book is the same.

can anyone please confirm if there is text missing from my book or if my friend and i are working from different texts to the course.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!
