The merchant-trader scowled, gripping the handle of his weapon nervously. The woman had indeed sat on a bench just outside his room, and was waiting for someone. Javier had no idea what she was expecting, or when and if it would even occur. He felt trapped, and mused over how an animal is most dangeous when cornered. He grew jittery, pacing back and forth in front of the door now, tapping the barrel of his gun to his forehead to enunciate certain points as he ranted...

"Ludicrous.

This is not good. A Starbase! You know, that's the problem; people coming and going at ALL hours because there IS no night and there IS no day! Not that that backwoods mudball below would have been any better...I DID need to refuel and, YOU, you my friend--!

I doubt I'd have found a Dr. Hastings among the fairies and farmers, eh? Yes, yes of course I am OVEREACTING! ARGH!!!"

He waved the blaster in frustration, at times unintentionally pointing it at one nervous Mark Hale.

"A delay. That is all.

We are DELAYED my friend. It's not going anywhere you know, as long as I don't forget."

He tapped the barrel to his temple once more and grinned.

"It's all up here, you know. I wouldn't trust my CALCULATOR with those coordinates.

We'll go soon enough, Doctor, when we can move more...discreetly.

Damn, I could use an Energesspresso right about now..."

Wild-eyed, the man Mark Hale knew only as Javier continued to pace and rant...
