Hi, There were three versions of the coat in the first film, the stunt version which was vented at the back simply for freedom of movement and the "hero" version which wasnt, a third was also made for the bullet time sequence on top of roof of the building and was two foot longer to dramatize the effect when Neo was dodging the Agents bullets. In Reloaded it did have a slit.
