Personally, I'd just as soon leave all the former cast members alone. Just all in all, not even attempt to reference them - with exceptions being if you're parodying them currently with little SNL reference (the Dennis Miller Show thing being tossed around). It rubs off as really tabloidish and overly obsessive and most of the time the impression turns into the writer spouting words through the former cast member's mouth.
