Subject: 1638, Galileo "Founder Modern Science"

In the 17th Century, Galileo Galilei founded Modern Science.
His philosophy toward the study & explanation of natural phenomena (the study of which was called "Natural Philosophy" in that century) was: "I observe the numerous motions, forces, phenomena. I form (sound) opinions, that I develop into (sound) concepts. I then, in a well organized manner, investigate these phenomena. While so doing I develop, from data, representative expressions that academically demonstrate my concepts as being valid." ---
The essence of his Natural Philosophy was the creation of the "Galilean Transformation Equations" to represent and Solve relative motion. Thus explaining & Solving dynamic phenomena in our World ! --- "Galilean Trans. Eq."
x' = x +/- v t, y' = y, z' = z, t' = t.
Galileo established the modern "Scientific Method" of proposing a theory, conducting laboratory experiments and then, from the data, put forward a valid (Math.) Equation
that explained and Solved the phenomena! Some of his major Achievements are: explained & calculated gravity = g = 980.7
cm/sec. per sec.; velocity = v = d/t; acceleration = a = gain of v per unit of time (t) = v/t; Force (to move an inert mass (m) thru a distence = F = ma. --- Galileo invented the telescope. Discovered that moons circled Jupiter. Proposed that as the Moon circles the Earth, the Earth circles the Sun. --- Explained and calculated the speed of sound. Suggested that light must be finite & on Earth appears to be instantaneous. ---
Thus, Galileo is The or at least one of the main influences
in the "Scientific World" in all History and certainly during the Millennium ! ---
