Hi Terry,

I'll resend. The document doesn't use anything out of the norm. Its a WORD document, has some bolding, some underline, font 12 mainly with a couple of spots of font 14 and TIMES NEW ROMAN. Nothing special at all and no password on the file.

Please let me know if you get the same problem and I try stripping it of any highlighting and save it another way.

Our WonderBoy!! Released from hospital 8 days post-op! I'm impressed. Yr daughter said you'd been exercising and getting in/staying in shape for 3-4 yrs prior. What kind of diet have you had? Coffee? Animal fat?/meat? (I do all of the above, btw) Just curious about all the factors that helped you be soooo "textbook"!

Hi Sussinni,

I stuck pretty close to the Canada food guide which I believe in the USA is called PYRAMID (I could be wrong, but I'm never wrong, I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken). The volumes were in the mid to low range so I'd lose weight. Which I did with the help of diurectics for the ascites. I haven't had a coffee in years, but I have about 3 cups of tea a week. No fried foods, no gravy, no fat/greasy foods, no beef at all, no prepared meats (high in salt), made sure I had my daily quota of fruits and veggies (mainly green veggies), Ate often but small portions. Of course no booze. Ate fish, poultry, pork once in awhile (its red meat), fruits&veggies, whole grain products, yogurt, peanut butter.

I was limited to 2 servings of meat, 7 servings of grains, 7 servings of fruit/veggies, 2 servings of dairy. Of course trying to lose weight everything was calorie reduced products (light). Watched the calories, fat and salt. If a product was high in these elements I passed. Of course staying away from the sweets was not a truly successful venture with me. If I had a craving I had a small portion and satisfied it then moved back on the regime. Of course don't leave any cookies around because the cookie monster gets them and I'm goin have to talk to that guy.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi Sussini,

I forgot to mention. I do credit diet with a lot as it contributed to my better health. But a major plus was that I was able to exercise (exercise bike, treadmill, stepper, and just days before the call weights). My lungs and heart were in good shape when I went into the operation and this was a major bonus in recovery.

Also, I brainwashed myself into believing that nothing, but nothing will stop me from getting better, and that the operation was just a passing moment. With that focus and the support of my family I was able to drop all stress and decision making. I sometimes think I'm just a lay about non contributing member of the family, but the wife and daughter have taken charge of things and when I fall into old habits and try to get involved I'm quickly told its not my job, my job is to focus on the positive and get better. Am I whipped or what.

Stess seems to play a much bigger role in your health than the medical profession has realized. Eliminate stress in everyway you can. Don't sweat the small stuff. Let things roll like water off a ducks back. Focus on your health and convince yourself that you only will do what is good for your health.

A bit fanatical but what else did I have to focus on.

Your get-ready regimen would make a good "primer" for all those getting listed!! Maybe Susie and Toosh could get something together -- we could get Bionic's input, and, and...

Hi Susinni,

I've lost bionic's email. Do you have it? I had contacted her before my transplant and she sent me some most excellent information which encouraged me and my family a bundle. I would like to let her know that I've had the Transplant and that everything she said was great stuff and I think of her comments frequently.
