I was immediately attatched to synchs, both psychologically and emotionally. The idea I would like to stress is the possibility of a HIGHER intellegence, meaning that synchs are actually not the work of a certain artist or band, but that the movement was actually created as a subconscious and underground method to convey certain ideals or philosophies about life itself. I personally think that Pink Floyd intended ALL of their synchs; to me it is unquestionable.
The thing, again, i would question though is was it a band called PINK FLOYD or was PINK FLOYD merely a working unit (i.e. musicians who could make the dream real) to help put together the idea of audio/visual synchs, which could have been thought up by any NUMBER of different and unknown people.
I also believe that probably all FLoyd albums synch to movies, but that the REAL intended movies probably just have not yet been found for certain albums (Animals, Wish You Were Here, etc.)
Another reason for my belief that synchs are actually the work of a higher, more expansive movement is Echoes-Contact, seeing that Contact was made in what, 1997? and the album Meddle in 68... this would mean that the director of the movie would have had to purposely direct the wormhole scene TO the song... so it works as musicians making music to movies and directors making movies to music. It is merely my personal opinion that these synchs are fully intentional (the REAL ones that is, there are likely many posted that SORT of go together, but are rather coincidental).
I noticed that you gave ALICE-WALL a 4. In my thoughts, this is EASILY the best synch that i have seen, and shall remain one of the best ever created. The importance here is not how well the songs go to the movie (which by the way, if you REALLY pay attention, always follows perfectly, especially with background noises) but rather the MEANING of the presentation.
The ideals about human nature and the philosophy of our life has been present for a long long time. Lewis Carol already conveyed the meaning of his thoughts through his novel. So I am saying, Alice in Wonderland is a subconscious fairy-tale method of saying something much deeper about people and their god-given nature. Pink FLoyd merely analyzed this philosophy and made a rock (a much more direct and influencial method) album to go along with the animated translation.
The ideas presented here are about the insanity of us (the race) today, due to the modern technilogical revolutions that have warped our minds, along with the very nature of humans. I do not have time at the moment to explain in full my thoughts, but i in fact should write a paper dedicated solely to WALLICE. (Something i have thought about doing ever since i gained a general understanding of the meaning [which took me about 7 or 8 viewings]). I really look forward to an email from you with your thoughts on these topics. If I do get around (ah, should i say when i DO get around) to writing the paper i surely will send it to you and if i could get a little help could post it on my own website.
