Hi!

I am using 6x9" Infinity Reference 6903i on the shelf. You are correct though, they do not fit. You have to cut away some metal below the speakers. I didn't do this myself, I had the stereo dealer do it for me.

At first, I bought the JBL speakers but then decided to go Infinity both front and back*. I don't have the JBL system, and you should have seen how crappy the original speakers were. "Max power 50W...". Or perhaps was it 30? Nevertheless, they were useless!
