will show what chipping will achieve. 10 bhp for �300. A K&N free flow air filter element or a full induction kit for �48 will give about 5 bhp at higher revs where the air intake may be strangled by factory fitted paper elements. Running on 97 octane will give an extra 2-3 bhp A tuned performance exhaust system will give about 8 bhp but cost over �200. There may be insurance considerations involved with the chip and the exhaust. I have chipped and changed the air filter on my V6 and am very pleased with the extra performance but you have to remember that I had a basic 210 bhp on a similar weight car to yours so I had a bit more oomph to start with. The 406 is much heavier than the little Fiat!
