The stuff in my personal life continues to be very hectic, but most of my husband's medical drama is now over, and I'll be leaving my current job, hopefully for something much, much less stressful, in six weeks. And, yes, I'm going to update. It just isn't happening right away for all the RL reasons, including a lot of my legit fic obligations...and a few non-legit fic obligations elsewhere. I'm so moved that so many people continue to enjoy the story and want more, even though its been years since its been updated. I really am going to try to change that, soon.

Margot,
I am sorry to hear things are so chaotic in RL. I hope things are finding you and your family much better these days. I hope you were able to leave your job and find something much better for you. I just wanted to say whenever I find I need a good read or something as gone haywire in my life I am always drawn to your fics. I recently broke up with my finance of over nine years and found one night in midst of my insomnia drawn once again to your stories. They all give me such strength and hope and I can't thank you enough. They make me look for things in myself and others that I might have missed. They also give me a nice place of solitude to avoid RL when needed (just in this case). Any hopes to the End of Silken? I can't wait to see what happens! I think have read it at least a gaziillion times in hope of any update! Again my best wishes are for you and your family!

Hey Margot,
I hope everythings ok with your family and I cant wait until the silken cage series is updated. Is there any chance you could give us readers an idea of when you'll start posting again? Thanks a lot and I wish you all the best.

Short answer: I have no clue when I'll be posting again. This past week two different things came up with two different legit fic projects, meaning the free time I expected to have for fanficcing this summer may be entirely shot to hell. I'll know more in about two weeks, and will post again, with a better idea of when things are going to shake out.

Well, legit stuff is fine too. Personally, I'm happy as long as you keep writing. Btw, I had no idea you wrote so much lesbian erotica! XD T'was a pleasant surprise for me. I especially liked Harlow Blonde!

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. It's been a busy month.
Harlow Blonde was written in, like, a week. Originally, the entire book was supposed to be reprints of, or excerpts from, stories and books written during the 20's-40's. But, for a host of complex reasons, we couldn't get enough original source material. Some of the problems had to do with copyright issues, i.e. we were told we could have X number of pages from an original source, then told, no, we could only have 1/3 of X. Another problem was that a couple of the vintage stories had characters under the age of 18. Not that they were a whole lot younger, but while it was acceptable to write about sexually active 15 and 16 year olds in certain contexts (not depicted as children, not in any way pandering to those who get off on sexualizing children) until relatively recently (my first published short story centers on a 16 year old recently turned vampire who uses sex to lure her victims), publishers won't touch anything with under 18 sexual activity, today. So, one of the most influential pieces of lesbian erotica from that era, which my editor had planned to use had to be excluded. And, I was about to say a whole lot more on that but let me not go into that rant.

Point is, the only way to make up the manuscript length the publisher wanted was by doing a story from each decade ourselves. Three of us were supposed to do it, one from each decade. So, I wrote the 20's piece, then the person who was supposed to do the 40's stories couldn't so I wrote the one for that decade (my editor's personal favorite, and mine, as well) and finally the person who was supposed to do the 30's piece couldn't and my editor asked me to go for the trifecta, out of which came Harlow Blonde. I had the least time to work on it, was a complete exhausted mess by the time we were at the point of realizing I was going to need to come up with a '30's story, and it got the least in the way of revision and editing. So, under the circumstances, I'm really more pleased than I can say that you enjoyed it. *G*

Although it isn't my main focus, I do write a fair bit of lesbian erotica. Even in my BtVS stuff, there's the Loving Buffy Summers trilogy which focuses on Buffy/Faith, though it includes Spike in the second story and Angel in the third, for instance. I don't see myself giving up writing lesbian erotica anytime soon. I have at least one idea for a murder mystery involving lesbian vampires that I'd love to have time to sit down and write sometime this millennium. But first, the books I'm already committed to working on.

I'm really glad that you are enjoying my work. Thank you for the words of support. They really do mean a lot.
