Don't get me wrong, Danny Rampling has done very well for a number of reasons, but he's not a great example to follow for his mixing abilities. Respect is due for the way he helped push the scene during the early days but a lot of the old hats are being shadowed by the rise of up and coming real talent thanks to competitions like Muzik magazine's 'Bedroom Bedlam'.

It would of course be nice to think that gone are the days of it all being about who you know but making contacts is essentially the secret. However, I'd rather hear a well mixed selection of good music from a total stranger than a dodgy clash of pots and pans from an old caner. An interesting debate and one that has fuelled many bedroom DJs I'm sure. At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

What can I do? Well all I can suggest is that you come down to the Scotch on Thursday nights and check me out or listen to the show every Sunday 6 til 8pm.

My top tip for any budding DJ's is to lay off the booze whilst DJing...(easier said than done, I should know!!!)

Peace
