It certainly sounds like Julio was announcing his retirement from music. Howeveer, I believe that Julio was speaking emotionally in the sense that no other award was worthy to follow the awards he had just received in Spain on Dec. 16, when he said, "This is the last day of my public life." I have read in several media that he clarified the remark to mean he would not be doing other award shows but would continue to perform. On Dec. 19 Julio's twitter account said this about his alleged retirement: "I will retire when people will want me to. But, for now, I will perform as long as I live".
