Subject: Making a mark inthe world.

Hello all,
I figure I would make my mark in the world in a positive way. How does one do that? Well, kind words, kindness, carring and a few kind jestures are just a start. Having a big heart does hurt. (So they say.) There will be times when kindness is returned, and alot of times where it won't.(Not pointing fingers at anyone.) People are just funny like that nowdays I supose. But that one time where a person does a double take at holding the door for you can go a long way. Saying " Thank you." or "Your welcome." every so often makes people feel better. Heck, even saying that someone looks nice brings out a smile. I haven't met a person that hasn't smiled yet. And you know what? That person will remember you for that. Maybe not the next day, maybe not next year, but there is going to be a time where that person remembers that kind compliment. And then it starts. They say the samething to someone else, and they say it to someone else, and on and on and on. People are kind of funny like that. Just out of no where they remember the smallest things. Good or bad, hopefully good. I remember when I was a kid (Like that wasn't long ago.) I had a nickle and wanted to buy a piece of bubble gum at the store. I walked up to the counter with this piece of gum and the woman rings up the gum and tells me that it is going to cost 7 cent. I was so sad and confused for a second or two. Then the man behind me leans forward and places 2 cent on the counter with my nickle. And says "Have fun kid." And I turned and walked away happy with my bubble gum. Looking back, I wish I had said "Thank you." to that man. But it didn't hit me that I had missed a small bit of kindness at the time. But it still makes me think twice when I see someone at the counter counting out pennies trying to buy something. And yes, I have given a few pennies to help people, more than once at times. And you know, it may seem stupid to give away money, but there is going to be that one day, that I or maybe you need a few pennies, and someone will be there to help me or you.

Keep on keepen on,
Olrik
