Author: T'kaal-Mnementh
Subject: The Weyrleader glances about. Seeing the weyrlings busy bagging firestone, he mounts Mnementh.

~Come on, deary. 'tis time to show everyone that we truly are dragonriders.~ Mnementh looks puzzled, but shrugs off his rider's oddness. Firestone? Come, we must have firestone! The bronze hurries towards the weyrlings, snatching one of the sacks with a dexterous claw. T'kaal clambers down to retreive it, grinning at his dragon's manner. He returns to his perch atop Mnementh's neck and straps himself in. Mnementh swivels his head back. maw gaping and ready to receive firestone. T'kaal obliges, tipping the entire sack down his bronze's throat. ~That enough?~ No. . . and this time Mnementh hands the sack up to his rider. T'kaal finds another grin on his face as he delivers the firestone to Mnementh's second stomach. The bronze nods this time, muscles bunching as he prepares to lift off. T'kaal braces himself for the jolt, but it never is quite enough. He is thrown back slightly as Mnementh launches himself into the air. The bronze drake darts to his place among the bronze wings of Benden, seeing that Ista obviously had no wings in the air. Mnementh's gaze drifts upwards, as does T'kaal's, and they both watch in awe as the Thread begins dropping nearer and nearer. . . NOW! Mnementh screams, to the other dragons, to his rider, whoever needs to hear. The bronze darts here and there, flaming Thread wherever it is to be found, but he stays in formation as best he can. T'kaal has a brief moment of respite as he lets his dragon take the lead, thinking, 'tis good fortune Ruatha's not windy. . . T'kaal is snapped back into reality by a sudden, sharp pain in his side. He glances down, and sees Thread writhing there only momentarily before Mnementh blinks between, where the Thread freezes and drops off. He has no time to be ashamed of his negligence, he has time only to correct it. He concentrates fully on the Fall now, gaze everywhere at once. He hears a dragon's cry, and immediately asks Mnementh, ~Who?~ Brown Kuvoth, rider D'kir. His rider was scored. Sighing, T'kaal spares a glance at D'kir. He seemed to be all right, so T"kaal turns back to his present problem of charring Thread, though Mnementh was doing a marvelous job by himself. ~What's the score tally, Mnem?~ So far, you and D'kir only. T'kaal groans. Nice example to be setting. . . Oh, and Sh'muel, rider of bronze Lirth, got a face score. Mnementh's mindvoice seemed amused, but T'kaal has no time to ask why. The pair are diving once more among the silvery Thread, reducing it to mere ashes in seconds.
