Ya, thats pretty shitty... in Florida, they just don't have the money to build new school and stuff.. some area's are getting over crowded, and you have 40 to 50 kids per classroom... so the kids don't all get the help they need... funny thing was, they started to lottery to help education and they were supposed to use the lottery money along with the money the state was also giving the schools.. but after they started the lottery, they made it the only source of income for the schools.. and took the school budget and allotted it elsewhere... thats kinda f*cked up... so now the lottery money is the only money the schools get from the state... so I've been told... its unfortunate.. but its the way things go I guess.. they public schools down here aren't that great to begin with in most areas... I'm sure people would argue that with me, but the ones that would argue are those who go to schools who have money coming in from other people.. such as rich people who went to the schools that are donating money to them to make them better... too bad they don't spread the money around to the other schools that need it too... and the areas that need the money don't get it, and they wonder why their schools rank so low on education... the local and state governments complain that the kids aren't scoring well on tests and what not, when they don't have the resources to help the kids out... sure they can help the kids take one test for the state to make the schools look like they have improved, but that is easy... its the graduation rates and kids actually making it to the next grade that is still overlooked to some extent... Oh well... maybe one day things will change.. but its going to take a lot of people to change it... another funny thing is that they spend a lot of money on sports programs and stuff to improve football and basketball teams, when the schools could use the money for better books and building more classrooms, and getting computers and stuff to help the kids learn more... seems like they care too much about winning a state championship than helping kids learn...

but that is just my take on some of whats going on in schools today...
