We can save ourselves, but the answer tp saving ourselves is not turning our backs on other people...most logical suggestion would indicate aids spread to america from africa, as well as other disesease have spread to america via foriegn country...thus the fight against infectious disease esle where is the fight against it everywhere...I said nothing of color, I said, nationality, and nationality is exactly what you are basing that argument on...what is lloking out for number one first, who is number one, all humans are the same, and our goverment should be concerned with the welfare of the world abroad...Isolation has always come back to help us...in addition, simply because we are the number one international benifactor does not mean other countries do not aid people either, I do not no where you got that preception from...conditions here in the U.S. are not as bad as theya re being portrayed by in your reflections, education, enviormental plight, and many other factors could be fixed bt streamling goverment operations and making them more efficient, as well as more properly applying the resources that we already apply...the reason the US is the number one international benafactor is quiet simply because we are the richest country in the world...do not forget, while you complain about taxes, that the U.S. also has the lowest rate of Taxation among all major industrial countries...unfortunately, it is still far to large for what we recieve and income distribution is far to out of wack...yes we do have major problems here, but nothing that validates us turning our back on the even less fortunate...

...you talk about air quality? If we do not remain envolved in helping developing countries, how are we supposed to have a leg to stand on when we request that they form some sort of enviormental regulation?
