"I see," he grunts. The pace he had set quickens, unnexplainably overpowering the equine's trot. His mind was arguing with him. The knowledge of what was, was not the knowledge of what he 'wanted' to come later.

"Even so," he continues. "If I were to be luring you into a trap, would it surprise you? Elves are not common folk in these parts, Adraine. They are highly useful."

Perhaps it was wrong to trick her. Maybe. He did not care to know.

"Ah, here you are." The horizon reached, the hill gone, the pit before them lie open like an abandoned mine. The rocky edges slope steeply, scarred with the hooves of the impatient stallion below. The dappled beast lifts his muzzle to stare into the face of his master, exhausting a snort of anticipation.

"Oh come." Genold kneels on the very edge of the pit, clasping his hands together. "I was not gone for so long. Now we must devise a plan together."

But Seveirdon's gaze was on the one of his kin, and the woman that rode him. They did not avert.

"Adraine," says the grizzled man. "A friend. Ready to cooperate?"

Again, a snort. Genold then stands to look towards Adraine, dusting his hands off on the front of his shirt.
