The Dracan Macek stepped from the shadows of the watchpod as the Cybertronian gunner spoke.

"I've tried Dracan AND Cybertronian. Switching to Nebulan and Terran dialects now...."

Macek's brow knitted in concentration. A ship suddenly appearing in space, with no warning. Wasn't that how his people had been attacked before? Things were different now....with the Cybertronian military, Draco had been safe. But now?

Detector-1 knew his Dracan companion pretty well by now, knew the Dracan mentality regarding outsiders. Detector-1 was a soldier, first and foremost, and he knew the next logical step.

"Warning shots fired, sir."

Macek nodded grimly as they watched the aproaching ship's erratic tragectory. One shot glanced across it's bow, the other took out a large chunk of the ship's left side. The sound coming over their radio sounded eerily like the ship had screamed.

"No! No, I didn't want to hit....they're going to hit...hard!"

What had he done? This wasn't the Autobot way....had his military training on Omicron II led to this? Maybe this wasn't the advance ship of an invading fleet....maybe it was some innocent.

Detector-1 realized he would have to live with this decision and perhaps never know whether it was the right choice or not. He and Macek watched the ship burn through Draco's atmosphere in silence.
