Subject: "So...we return once more, just like that..."

Rana looked about. Moments ago, the surreal desert of Dah'Li known as The Southlands had surrounded them. Now, the ever shifting forest was around them; before them was a rift.

"Well, well, well. Ma-ligned. Look at that...they did it!"

To any other, the sight of one's own body lying prone on the bridge of a realmcraft, hovering in a shimmering rift in mid-air in a vague forest, would be unsettling. But the Manarian wizard had seen much in two lifetimes, and little surprised him now. Yet as he prepared to return, he did consider the gargantuan task before him. This dream jaunt had presented him with two monumental revelations. One old foe, near but concealed, and one deadly new threat, just on the horizon.

"This guy..." he muttered, "Party of three indeed! Be lucky if I can get one to trust me! Enemies are popping out of the woodwork, but allies are in short number...and the few I have...their destiny lies elsewhere...or it did.

So much changed....it will take me time to sort out the future now.

Better make sure there's still one to sort...."

Biggs remained silent as the Manarian wizard leapt, clutching the scroll, through the rift...
