Author: Boeckle
Subject: Boeckle saluted Lt. Ames.

It was a bit of a sloppy salute, his days in basic were long in the past and he devoted all his days to science. But the one lesson he had gone away with was when entering in the presence of an officer, you salute.

Lt. Ames' salute was distracted as the officer turned back to one of his screens. His face was a haggard portrait of a hunted individual.

Boeckle considered asking whats wrong, but thought better of it. This was the military and you never asked the military what's wrong. There reply to a question like that was something like: "Nothing and who's asking?"

He decided instead to get right to the crux of the matter. He explained it all including Forge's insightful comments and his own conclusions.

Ames' face continued to sink.

Boeckle didn't understand what he was saying that was affecting the officer so but he sped through the rest of his report. Lt. Ames merely nodded and showed a brief Intelligence Repor to Boeckle, covering some of what he had already reported on but not the insight and scientific theories behind these events.

Lt. Ames explained to him that Op-Chief didn't even have to make the call on this and although Lt. Ames didn't feel very comfortable making the decision he told Boeckle to get a team together. He explained to leave the Military and Intelligence side to operations but he was to decide who was going science side.

Boeckle defined the orders to be, ask Forge who wants to go and i'll ask my team who wants to go. As he left, he knew that Forge would let him know soon enough.
